Cairns
With a population of 128.284 the city of Cairns is situated in the state of Queensland (QLD) 346 km to the north of Townsville, 1720 km from Brisbane and 2500 km from Sydney.
Its tropical climate, pristine beaches, and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef make Cairns a tropical paradise. The enormous variety of flora & fauna and surrounding unique natural landscapes (Palm Cove, Kuranda, Kewarra) make Cairns a must see when visiting Australia.
After the cities of Sydney and Brisbane, Cairns is probably one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations. You can visit Cairns all year round but don’t forget there is a rainy season from December–March!
