Melbourne
With a population of 3.6 million, Melbourne, after Sydney, is the 2nd largest city in Australia. Melbourne is the capital of the state of Victoria (VIC) and is located at the mouth of the Yarra River and Port Phillip Bay. It is one of Australia’s oldest cities but today is a large modern city known as the city of fashion and design. In Melbourne you’ll see a great variety of architecture, from heritage Victorian to the most modern constructions. The streets of Melbourne are full of cafés, culture and shops that give Melbourne its unique and distinctive character. Melbourne is home to numerous cultural festivals and sporting events, many of which are recognised internationally. The ever changing weather in Melbourne has give rise to the phrase, “four seasons in one day”!
